November 13, 2010 Charleston SC

Our package from the manufacturer of our starboard side bow light arrived in Charleston on Friday.  Dan from Brunelle helped John change the light.  The light from the port side was on back order and, hopefully, it would meet up with us down the ICW.  We took the water taxi to Charleston as our marina, Charleston Harbor Marina, was across the river from town but right next door to the USS Yorktown.  We just could not get away from those Navy vessels!  We had an early lunch at Fleet Landing along the waterfront and enjoyed the excellent food and ambiance of the restaurant.   After lunch we went to the open air market which showcased many local artists selling their goods.  John and I walked down King Street where there were many upscale shops and we decided to head to Harris Teeter for some grocery shopping.

The USS Yorktowne parked next to our marina in Charleston. Looking closely, you can see       the top of the submarine parked to the right of the aircraft carrier.

Our Chesapeake sailing group was having their annual Italian dinner in Annapolis so we thought we would do the same on Andiamo. Each boat provided a great dish from appetizers to a delicious dessert.   Our friends, Dick and Jean Citron from Absolutely joined us all for dinner.  It was a great night.
We decided we will needed a 7:30am departure time the next morning since we would be making our way to B&B Seafood. No, it was not a five star restaurant or a Zagat rated Bed and Breakfast but it was a spot on the Mosquito Creek where the shrimpers brought in their catches each day – promising the best and freshest shrimp around.
