We were told to be ready at 10am and we were being taken to a Sailor’s Exchange store. The store was amazing with everything imaginable. I believe you could build your own boat if you really wanted to. Jay informed us he was there three times a week! We picked up a few treasures and one of them was Martha’s (Brunelle) Dad's book that he had written. Her Dad was a yachting magazine editor and had written several books on sailing. (Good reason why we follow Brunelle in tight spots) We had to pick one up for our book collection on Andiamo. The owner of the shop was so impressed that Bill Robinson’s daughter was in his store, that we got great discounts on all the treasures we purchased. We then proceeded directly to the West Marine store and then to a fabulous lunch at the Hurricane Patty Restaurant where we all had a great meal. Afterwards, we decided to split up and the wives went shopping! The men took the treasured items we had purchased earlier in the day back to the boats.
We had dinner on our own boats and met at 6:30 in St. Augustine to enjoy the festivities of the lighting of the Christmas tree. It was a beautiful evening with warm weather. There was something wrong with the picture when the choir sings “Let it Snow” and everyone is wearing shorts! We then headed back across the bridge to Jay’s home and enjoyed ice cream sundaes with brownies. What a perfect way to end the day! We welcomed Pegg home from her relay race and she promised to show us pictures of her race later in the week. We would be joining Pegg and Jay for Thanksgiving dinner.Christmas festivities in St. Augustine Public Market
