Departure time was 9am for our adventure up to Jacksonville to meet the custom's officer. Dan was hoping he remembered how to drive since the last two times driving were in golf carts and on the opposite side of the road. We drove for an hour and we all went in together. I think we surprised them that all six people arrived at the same time. It seemed they had some computer issues but it was all done and accomplished in one hour and 20 minutes to process the three boats! They gave us individual cards so we were hoping that the next time we would be registered and we would not have to see them in person. The decals we purchased didn’t seem to make a difference.
After customs we headed for lunch at Panera Bread. We all enjoyed eating again from an American chain restaurant but we did miss that conch was no longer on the menu. After lunch we headed back to the marina and Martha and I went to Publix to do a little food shopping. I was on a sensory overload. Just being out of the country for seven weeks, I never realized just how many choices we have in our supermarkets. I bought our fresh fruits and a variety of other things and then headed back to the marina since we were due at Pegg's and Jay’s home for dinner.
The girls at Pegg's home for dinner! While at dinner at Pegg's and Jay’s home we met some other Bliss relatives who were staying with them along with some of Pegg’s friends. Martha made her famous “Dark and Stormy” rum drink which we always enjoy. Dan bought us back to the marina for another restful evening.
