We had experienced 15 knot winds during the night and our anchor was quite full of sand when we pulled it up. We had the jib out and were travelling well over 5 knots to Hope Town. The winds were still in the 15-20 range. We approached Hope Town cautiously as the tide was going out and there was not much water in the channel. Pekabu volunteered to go in first and let us know the depth along the way. Once inside the circular harbour we saw that there were many boats on mooring balls. We picked up the last few that were still around. Once settled we went to the shore by the lighthouse and walked the 101 steps up to the top. Once there we saw there was only a small opening that we all had to crawl through in order to the see the breathtaking view of the harbour in all directions. Despite our ages and our girths - we made it!
We had hors d’oeuvres aboard Brunelle and enjoyed the friendship of Pegg and Jay, their guests for the week.
