That day was somewhat relaxing. Our first thing we needed to do was trash removal. Hope Town collected trash only on certain days of the week and that morning was it. Pekabu had been kind enough to swing by and pick up our trash to take it to shore. Our dinghy was still up and secure from the previous night’s storm. The boater’s net that morning on channel 68 was trying to match up boaters with things lost or found from the previous night’s storm. One caller in particular said he had a left women’s blue Croc size 6 and then another caller said he had the right Croc. There were more serious things which had been lost and found such as dinghy seats and cushions etc. Each item had to be matched up with the proper owner. All of this was done on the net. The boaters net for the Abacos was at 8:15am every day and they gave the local weather reports and eyewitness reports of the different ocean cuts in the area. The local merchants then announced what their daily menu specials were for the day or what the special snorkeling/diving exhibitions were going to be. You could then plan your day around the announcements.
