This was a day of bridges! Thirteen in all! Most went without a hitch but we had to time those openings just right! They were made for power boats going about 8 knots and we traveled between 5 & 6 knots which meant we had to wait about 25 minutes, in some cases, for the next opening. That at times was challenging because the winds would pick up. In one case, two small cruise ships were trying to come out their slips when we were all testing our abilities to keep our vessels in place. The sailboats won but the cruise ships were not happy! We then just followed them through the next set of bridges. The homes we were seeing while waiting for the brides to open were like pages out of magazines. We weren’t sure of which house to take a picture. They were all gorgeous! Some had numerous art displays on their lawns or mega yachts just sitting at their beck and call in front of their homes. The types of flowers blooming in this area were similar to the ones blooming in August in Maryland. Just beautiful! At the end of the day, we were in Lake Boca Raton where only our four boats were anchored. We arrived at that small lake with saxophone music playing on shore which continued for a few hours. The lake was small and we were surrounded by condos, office buildings, and other beautiful sights of Boca Raton.
