Miami skyline from a few miles offshore
We left Boca Raton at 7:30am to continue our bridge adventures before heading off shore. The bridge timings went much better today as we traveled through nine bridges and then headed out the Ft. Lauderdale inlet in order to miss the one fixed bridge of 56 feet. Our mast needed 63.5 feet to clear the bridges. We also missed a lot of the Miami bridges so going in the ocean had been a good thing! The ride was good and we came in at the Government Cut. There happened to be four cruise ships in port so part of the channel was closed for safety concerns; but, we did not need to go in that direction so all was well. We turned left (south) towards the Keys. The first was Virginia Key and we anchored behind it and enjoyed a wonderful dinner of ravioli, asparagus, and apple chicken sausage. We finished with a glass of white wine while we looked at the Miami skyline and couldn't believe we were living this dream! Andiamo with the Miami skyline
