January 17, 2011 Key Largo, FL

We started the day by sitting on the veranda and having another marina breakfast. It must have looked as if we were having a good time because two other people wanted to come and join our table.  There was always room to pull up another chair and chat.  One of the women told us that the marina was showing a movie that evening at 7pm called (surprise, surprise!) “Key Largo”.  Next week they were showing the “African Queen”.  The original African Queen boat, that Hepburn and Bogart used in the movie, was there in the channel and we would walk past it every time we went to breakfast. It turned out to be a wise decision to stay an extra day because there were heavy downpours throughout the day.   Eventually the rain stopped and our group had lunch at the Tiki bar next to the Holiday Inn pool.   It had been a good day to get caught up with some computer and boat work.

We had a wonderful pasta dinner made by Maureen and Glen that evening on the veranda.  There was an abrupt ending as we watched a storm approach us.  We were supposed to have a movie at the marina but John and I decided to go back to Andiamo to sit out the storm.  Our plan in the morning was to leave and travel to Marathon.
