We left our slips at Key Largo; once more survived crash corner; and again marveled at the homes and boats lining the channel. We edged our way back to Hawk Channel to head down to Marathon. We enjoyed looking at the turquoise water and sailed along our merry way. This was a day we spent looking at bridges rather than going under them. The Keys were all connected by bridges. The only thing of note was that a boat from the Immigration Department had stopped Sevilla and asked several questions such as: were there any weapons on board, how many people were on board, and where had they spent the previous two nights. Sevilla promptly told them the correct answers and the Immigration boat left as swiftly as it came. We had been in the boat in front of them and we missed the whole thing! What a great picture OP it would have been but we missed it.
We arrived in Marathon Key and had to get a mooring ball. We were looking for the one to which we had been assigned in a large field of 231 mooring balls. It was up to each boat to find it. It was very interesting but Brunelle found our ball first and told us where to go. We spent a comfortable night attached to the ball.
