We had awakened leisurely and the girls decided to go into town and start to investigate. We called Glen and Maureen from Sevilla and Sue and Walt Dennison to meet all of us at the Conch Republic Restaurant for lunch. Walt and Sue were part of our CCYC sailing group from the Chesapeake and they go down to Key West with their motor home each year for the winter. Sue was great and gave each one of us a package of “must do” restaurants along with lots of brochures. We certainly appreciated all Sue’s hard work to keep us in entertainment ideas.
Sevilla had to replace their transmission and it seemed that the boat yard was unable to get a replacement for two months. Their trip may be temporarily ending as the rest of us continued our journey. We wished them luck and perhaps by the time Sevilla was repaired we would meet up once again in the spring along the coast to finish our trip together.
Pegg drove all the girls to Publix to do a little shopping while we had access to a car. The weather had been threatening and it rained while we were in Publix so the timing had been perfect. We met the guys back at the dinghy dock so they could help us with our goodies. We went back to the boats in a light drizzle but the storm had passed and we had a cool night with a gorgeous moon.
