After our breakfast with the other boaters we did some housekeeping jobs on the boat. We spoke to Verizon to inform them that they should connect us to our international plan and they boldly told us that our Internet connection device was not compatible. They had told us in December that it would be compatible. John’s BlackBerry would be the only electronic device that would work. Once we get into a “hotspot”, I would be able to update the blog, etc. We had been afraid that many of our friends would be alarmed if they did not see regular updates from us once we crossed over to the Bahamas. We were continuing to watch for a possible window a couple days out but another cold front was coming through too quickly and we realized that we would still have to wait for the next one.
Pekabu arrived in Key Largo that afternoon at 4pm to a CCYC welcoming committee. We were thrilled now that our group was once again all back together. Pete had gone to Philadelphia the previous week for a business meeting and he had gotten caught up in the snow delays. He was thrilled to be back to paradise and the ability to be wearing shorts and sandals. In honor of their arrival we ordered pizzas from a nearby pizza place. We had a great dinner listening to Pete’s travel adventures from his week in Philadelphia.
Pekabu III arrival- next to Brunelle and Andiamo
The marina had a movie night that night which we all stayed for. They showed “Captain Ron”. It was about a family who inherited a boat in the Bahamas and they needed to sail it to Miami to sell it. Anything that could possibly go wrong did go wrong and we were all able to relate to the story in one way or another.
Yes, four pizza boxes for our three boat's dinner. Dan is the background waiting for everyone to come and consume! Trust me, the pizza is all gone!
