April 19, 2011 Hilton Head

Hilton Head in the Spring time!

After we arrived in our slip at 9am, we were greeted with a bottle of vino from the dock hand.  How nice was that after being out on the ocean overnight!  We settled in and everyone took naps at various times during the day and then met up at dinner.

The really neat thing about Hilton Head on this journey was that we just happened to arrive the day before the Heritage Golf Tournament.  We saw the stands for the 18th hole and enjoyed a metal cold beer container at the 19th hole.  We had never had beer out of a metal container but it’s a must if you get the chance.  It was extremely cold. The excitement for the tournament was just beginning and would be in full swing by the weekend.  Even though we were not golfers, we enjoyed seeing the satellite trucks setting up along with all the stands, and watching the machine perfectly cut the golf grass.

Having a toast at an outside stand, which was being set up for the Heritage function, with our group at dinner was another great way to end a unique and memorable day.

A great day at Hilton Head!
