Well, I woke up at 3am and decided at 3:30 to try to get on the Internet. It worked so John and I downloaded all our emails. I worked on uploading the blog until 5am. I then went back to bed until 8am because we had a staff meeting on board Brunelle at 8:30. Good thing we didn’t miss that particular one because at the meeting we decided to take all three boats over to Atlantis for the night on Sunday evening. We figured it was cheaper to take the boat for the night rather than go for a day pass to enjoy the water park. We had Julia arriving around noon.
Nassau Harbour Club Marina-Andiamo, Brunelle and Pekabu are on the right.
We went on the recommendation of our dock master, Peter, to try the fish fry part of Nassau for lunch. We had to take two buses to arrive at the destination. We knew we were tourists when we all paid our $1.25 fare at the beginning of our ride rather than at the time of exiting the bus. It opened all our eyes of how the folks of Nassau live every day because the bus was a local one. The door of the bus was held open with bungee cord. We arrived at the fish fry area and then the peddlers began to try to get us in into “their” fish fry restaurant. We finally settled on a particular one with an air conditioned room. We really lucked out as we were all exceptionally hot from the two bus rides. We enjoyed our meal and decided to take a taxi back to the marina rather than using the bus system. We had a great day and ended it with light snack aboard Andiamo at 7pm.
As we were driving by in the taxi we saw this food stand on a Nassau beach. It's a pink turkey on the top!
