Our check in time was noon about one half mile down the harbor. We fueled up and headed down. Julia was arriving and landing by plane supposedly at 11:15am but her flight had been early and she landed at 10:30. We had to hustle but she did beat us and was waiting at our slip for us to enter. We sat and talked, ate a sandwich, and then we were off to the Atlantis water park. Atlantis is one of the world’s largest hotel complexes, with endless rows of shops and water sports galore. The water park has water slides, a lagoon, white-sand beaches, underground grottoes, plus an underwater viewing tunnel of cascading waterfalls. We took a golf cart from the marina over to the main entrance of the hotel where we walked through to get to the water sports. John, Julia, and I first checked out the rapid river ride. It was a mile long that snaked around the property with plenty of rapids and surprises around each corner. We tried slides that took us through the shark tank, tube rides down slides, and a few water slides that made our hearts skip a beat. There was enough variety for the whole family.
We came back to Andiamo once the park closed and had a great meal enjoying Julia’s first night. What a fun day!
