We woke up to weather reports of winds but not in the correct direction. Local knowledge was indicating that Sampson Cay was one of the good spots for protection so, we thought, why leave a good thing! We noticed s/v Run Away (Marti and Matt) from the Solomons so Kathy called and invited them to enjoy the Sampson Cay Club lunch special. It was two pizzas for the price of one. We contacted Brunelle in the Big Major anchorage and they arrived by dinghy with Rose and Patrick on board. Rose and Patrick were their guests from Chile this week. Patrick was Dan's friend in grade school when Dan lived in Chile. A couple from s/v Jubilee (dock neighbors) joined us so we had a table for 12. We ordered 8 pizzas altogether. The chef made me a special Margarita pizza without cheese that was to die for. I ate the whole thing myself! We all agreed that this chef was one of the best we had since leaving home.

After lunch, Pete and John pulled some our instruments apart to see how easy it would be to replace our VHF radio in the cockpit. They decided it was above their pay rate and we would look to purchase a 5 watt hand held once we arrived back in Nassau. Our transmission and receiving was only about two miles as compared with 20 miles out. Fortunately, we had our buddy boats to relay any messages necessary. In the meantime Kathy came over and we had some snacks and it ended up being our dinner. The pizzas from earlier in the day filled us up! We were hoping to go to Exumas Emerald Rock anchorage tomorrow as we had requested a mooring ball. We would find out in the morning when the assignments would be given out.
