It was another day in paradise! Dan had called and invited us to follow him in his dinghy around Warderick Wells Cay to Escape Beach and then to Capture Beach. Escape Beach was a short, steep walk up a hill on Hog Cay to see the panoramic view of the ocean and the Land & Sea Park behind us. The variety of colors of blue and aqua waters could be seen from the top. We were able to see the waves of the ocean breaking across the cay. We then travelled in our dinghy across a small mooring field to Capture Beach where Pirate Lair was. We sat in a rope hammock and walked on a path lined with conch shells to where the pirates once had their camp.

Our delicious lunch of hamburgers was followed by a walk on Warderick Wells Cay. The first path we took gave us beautiful views of our anchorage, a remote walking bridge, and the wildlife of the island (including iguanas). Our second path took us to the top of Boo Boo Hill which had blow holes, views of the strong current of the ocean, and amazing views of the circular anchorage around the Exumas HQ. A blow hole is a naturally made hole in the rock which goes down to the sea level. At times, usually at high tide, the force of the ocean pushes the water up those holes. It sounds as if a train is coming and when the water reaches the top it sprays outward which is very cool to see. The holes could be very deep. The notoriety of Boo Boo Hill stems from a variety of boat name signs left by boaters at the top of the hill who were visiting the park. A mid-afternoon swim next to our boat gave way to a delicious dinner cooked by John. We celebrated another fantastic day by uncorking a bottle of great wine!
