Shells on the beach. We watch the one conch walk!
We said goodbye to our anchorage at Warderick Wells at 10am for what we thought would be an easy sail down to Cambridge Cay. Following our first uninvited guest onto our deck (a squid who left his black defensive ink mark) we quickly learned that sometimes a good snorkel area is a bit tough to get into. At our first attempt into the channel, there had been a boat of divers in the water. Until the divers were out of the water we were stuck circling in a very windy and strong channel. We were all off course and Brunelle was the first one into the channel. A wind gust came along and ran Brunelle aground. A few hours later, and we are sure a few drinks later, they were freed and were able to grab a good mooring in the field.
Julia on Andiamo
Meanwhile Pete, Kathy, Julia, and Betty decided they were up for a hike to see Bell Rock and go up the hill. It was an interesting hike up a tough trail (we all decided it was not something we would want to do at high tide due to all the rocks). Once we were at the top, we were thankful we had taken the trek. What a site! On one side of the island were beautiful rock formations out of the ocean waves and on the other was our beautiful anchorage. It was another amazing view. The next day we were hopeful to make it to Big Majors to see the swimming pigs and a trip to Thunderbolt Grotto before Julia left on the following Monday.
Bells Rock- We climbed up the rock on the left.
