January 30, 2011 Key Largo

We enjoyed Sunday breakfast on the veranda with a wonderful group of other boaters who had joined our table along with three dogs.  We all compared stories.  After breakfast we took a short walk to the local flee market and picked up some fresh vegetables.  We then took a walk to some local shops because Dan was looking for a watch.  Since he had been successful along the way we headed back to the marina and to the pool.  Dan, Martha, and John enjoyed the pool while I read on a nearby lounge chair and thought that this was surely a great life we were living!  Sitting outside with the temperature in the lower 70’s and with blue skies seemed unbelievable for the end of January.  The snow reports up north - could they really be true?
Galley Restaurant was much quieter this particular time because we enjoyed a nice corner table.  The last time we had been there the Pittsburgh football game was playing.  Dan gave us an update on the Bahamas' weather window that he was watching.  It was important to keep an eye on the winds since we did not want a north wind while the gulf stream was heading north.  That would have caused large waves so we decided to stay there in the Key Largo area and continue to wait for that all important window. But we had had another great day and, therefore, we were not going to complain!
