We left Highborne Cay with clear water at 9am to start our journey through the cut crossing the Exumas Sound to Eleuthera Island. The seas were calm and other than flying fish it basically was uneventful which was fine with us. We approached Eleuthera and noticed the many shades of blue in the water. It was truly indescribable. We had the deep blue of the 5000 feet depth and as we approached land and at 55 feet we could see the bottom with a lighter shade of blue. At 15 feet there was a yet still lighter shade of blue. We could see the white which were sand bars. It would be very hard to capture all that beauty in a picture. We were also experiencing many more coral heads that we needed to watch out for since we didn't want to hit them since they could damage a boat. We travelled up the island a little to Rock Sound Harbour and we were anchored outside a small friendly town of Rock Sound. We could see cars driving on a road on the island and knew we were near civilization. Seeing and hearing a car was something we had not experienced except in Nassau.
Approaching Rock Sound Harbor
We had our get-together aboard Andiamo with cocktails and snacks to toast another great day.
While crossing the exuma sound, we came across this boat with tied on oil jugs on top. Not sure if it is all trashed. Martha remembered seeing this boat in Nassau harbor.
