March 29-31, 2011 Marsh Harbour, Abaco

Pekabu and Andiamo left at 8am and headed for Abaco Beach Resort & Marina while Brunelle continued. They went to Harbour View Marina in Marsh Harbour itself.  Marsh Harbour was noted for the large anchorage and could hold about 100 boats.  We were about a five minute walk to the center of Marsh Harbour where Brunelle had been located but it would have been about eight miles by boat if we decided to go around the peninsula.

Our clean-up time began.  Doing laundry and washing the salt off of the boat took most of the day but it all needed to be accomplished.  We took a walk into town and found a variety of hardware stores. We went into every one of them.  Dan was looking for some spark plugs for his outboard.  We did come across a rather large supermarket and bought some fresh items which we needed.  Our canned and frozen meat supply was still good and we thought that it would carry us home.  We enjoyed lunch at a local family restaurant and had great wraps.

The following day John and I took a two hour walk in the opposite direction.  We found homes in neighborhood type settings that we have in the states except the ones there had fantastic water views!  We visited some shops along the way and found another grocery store.  Marsh Harbour was the winter home for a lot of cruisers from the states.  Supposedly they get there and do not go any further south.  Marsh Harbour was also called Florida East since you could find just about anything you might need for your vessel.
That night, we were all getting together to having dinner there at the resort restaurant.
