Julia was leaving after having spent eight days with us. She would have three planes to catch. Our first mode of transportation was going in our dinghy to the end of Staniel Cay Creek. We tied our dinghy to a cinder block we had found there and walked a short block to the airstrip. We arrived early because we heard that if the plane arrives early, it leaves early. Unfortunately, the plane was about five minutes late and was on the ground for only 10 minutes to unload passengers and to load up again. Only nine passengers fit in the plane. All of the following happened within the 10 short minutes. The pilot pulled the plane up to where we were standing. He jumped out of his window, went down the wing, and opened the door from the outside to allow his passengers to get out. He then proceeded to the nose of the plane and opened it. All of the luggage was in the nose of the plane! He started putting the new luggage into the nose and then told the passengers where to sit in the plane in order to balance the weight. Julia was fortunate to have gotten on the left side and was able to get a picture of our anchorage from the air. We then headed back to Andiamo with happy memories of a great week with our daughter.

Dan asked if we wanted to take a ride to Staniel Cay to visit the grocery stores and have lunch on shore. We were happy to tag along. Staniel Cay had two grocery stores, one pink and one blue, and they were about a block apart. They stocked some canned goods and other necessities. We bought only a dozen eggs and some tomatoes. However, on our way down the street to the pink store, a woman had a bread sign out on her lawn. We knocked on the door and entered her kitchen. It smelled wonderful. We purchased a loaf of coconut bread for $6.00 and two cinnamon raisin buns for the next day's breakfast.

We went back to Staniel Cay Yacht Club and enjoyed a great lunch. I had the local fish of the day, a Mahi Mahi sandwich, and John had a lobster salad.
We headed back to the dock where we left our dingy and we found a shark lying under it! There were many sharks in the marina and they were interesting to watch. A gentleman on the side hit the nearby fishing table three times and all the sharks headed his way. He was throwing fat into the water and we were watching the sharks gobble it up. What a sight!

In late afternoon, Brunelle's dingy, along with ours, went for a tour of the nearby cays in the area. We saw a pair of goats on one of the small islands. As we approached Thunderbolt Grotto we saw three people on top of the grotto looking down into it. One by one, they jumped in. We could hear their screams echoing out of the grotto. It was interesting to watch but you would not catch us doing that. We weren't sure what the screams were about and we didn't want to find out!!!
We enjoyed a beautiful sunset and were looking forward to going to Samson Cay the next day. We would fill our fuel and water tanks up since we heard they were giving out free water and, of course, some laundry needed to be done.
